Working on getting TBD accepted in UKC
โดย Amanda Gibney - Wednesday, 2 March 2005, 07:39AM
I am working on getting the Thai Bangkaew recognised by the UKC (United Kennel Club).  I need some breed history to submit to them along with the application and was wondering:

Who are some of the early breeders/kennels of Thai Bangkaew Dogs?

Who are considered foundation dogs and bitches in the breed?

How many registries are there for Thai Bangkaew in Thailand, names of the orginizations and how many Bangkaew each of them has registered?

Thank you all for any help you can provide.

Amanda

I am asking Mr.Yo to give you more information.
His uncle is said to be the first breeder and the first TBD kennel in Thailand, see http://www.bangkaew.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=13

And while waiting , you can get some TBD history from the story of Dogs of Summer in English

What is the meaning of Working on
getting TBD accepted in UKC. ?

When Breeds first come to America they are not accepted by AKC (American Kennel Club) right away. The road is long to AKC recognition. It takes about ten years & a certain set of requirements must be met...Distribution & numbers in many states. Well kept registry & Stud books. We have established TBDCA as the parent club, which has started the long process.

So, rare breeds first must start their own breed club(s), & gain recognition by those All-breed clubs that accept rare breeds.... International UCI (IABCA) , National Canine Association, Rarities, ARBA, etc.... These clubs give a show case for breed not yet accepted by AKC. Others who show dogs are often interested & it helps promote the breed responsibly. UKC is the next show club we are trying to get them accepted to exhibit. We are trying to get accepted by several Rare breed clubs so that it is easier for owners to show in their local area. Right now it is only 4 families in USA that have known TDB. All are members of TBDCA.

On Saturday, I went to see TBD Dog-show at The Mall,Bangkhae, I heard from KCThailand that AKU will come to approve TBD and they will organize  a big TBD Dog-show free of charge in Phitsanulok during 23-24 April to welcome AKU and show them the origin of TBD, WatBangkaew.  It is likely that the road-map to FCI for TBD will be smooth and shortened.

AKU stands for Asian Kennel Union, we have to get approval trom AKU before moving to FCI.
